This classic style black hat is elegant and suitable for a number of occasions be they formal, celebratory or more solemn in tone.
The item is in pristine condition, one colour throughout and lifted somewhat by the satin ribbon that forms the edge of crown’s band and the bold bow decoration.
The item is a standard medium fit. However, the hat has a universal fitting thread and woggle enabling it to be worn with comfort by someone with a smaller head fitting too. A very useful feature of design used occasionally by Maddox and some other mainstream headwear makers.
The crown is medium tall, slightly shaped and ridged around the top. The brim is symmetric and neat, edged with black trim of the same fabric. The decoration comprises a band at the crown base and a bold, large bow – both of which are edged with satin ribbon that can catch the light, thus lifting the whole item!
